Biography

Taylor gra­du­at­ed from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Lew­is­burg (now Buck­nell Uni­ver­si­ty) (1854) and Ro­ches­ter Theo­lo­gic­al Se­mi­na­ry (now Col­gate Ro­ches­ter Cro­zer Di­vi­ni­ty School) (1856).

He served pas­tor­ates in Terre Haute, In­di­ana (1857–60); Cin­cin­na­ti, Ohio (1860–64); Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois (1864–70); New Or­leans, Lou­isi­ana (1870–75); Pro­vi­dence, Rhode Is­land (1875–81); New York Ci­ty (1881–82); New­ark, New Jer­sey (dates un­known); and Buf­fa­lo, New York (1885–87).

Taylor ed­it­ed the Bap­tist Sun­day School Quar­ter­ly, and was ex­po­si­to­ry ed­it­or of the Bap­tist Teach­er.
