Biography

Emily was the daugh­ter of Sam­uel Tay­lor of New Buck­en­ham, niece of hym­nist John Tay­lor of Norwich, and great-grand­daugh­ter of He­bra­ist Dr. John Tay­lor.

She wrote nu­mer­ous child­ren’s sto­ries, main­ly his­to­ri­cal, and va­ri­ous works of in­struct­ion and des­cript­ive na­tur­al his­to­ry, and con­trib­ut­ed to Mag­net Sto­ries (1860, etc.) and Rain­bow Sto­ries (1870, etc.).
