Taylor became rector of All Souls’ Universalist Church in Riverside, California, in January 1887. He resigned in 1891.
He served as rector of St. John’s Church, Los Angeles, from November 1, 1891, to April 19, 1903.
By 1905, he was serving at St. George’s Church, Schenectady, New York.
