Lizzie was the daugh­ter of Jo­seph H. Hinks­on and Ly­dia Ann Ed­wards, wife of John Swe­ney, and mo­ther of Jo­se­phine H. Swe­ney. Af­ter John Swe­ney’s death, she mar­ried Will­iam Kirk­pat­rick.
