Died: No­vem­ber 18, 1937, Bærum, Akershus, Nor­way.

Buried: Tre­fol­digh­ets­kirk­en, Os­lo, Nor­way.

Biography

Son of a fish­er­man and farm­er, Støylen stu­died at Vol­da, Kvinn­herad, and Chris­ti­an­ia (Oslo).

In 1890, he be­came a sea­men’s pas­tor in Car­diff, and later became lead­er of a new Chris­tian col­lege at Not­od­den. From 1902, he was a cler­gy­men’s teach­er in Os­lo, and lat­er Bi­shop of Ag­der (1913–31).
