Biography

Matilda was the daugh­ter of George Hen­ry Da­vis, Sec­re­ta­ry of the Re­li­gious Tract So­cie­ty, and wife of John Fred­er­ick Ste­ven­son, pas­tor of Em­ma­nu­el Con­gre­ga­tion­al Church, Mon­tre­al (mar­ried Ju­ly 1863).

We spe­cu­late this au­thor is Ma­til­da Boyle Ste­ven­son (?–1934), who is bur­ied in Cim­e­tière Mont-Roy­al, Outre­mont, Mon­tre­al, Qué­bec, Ca­navda.
