Biography

Steinmetz was the son of Al­bert Stein­metz and Bri­ta Ma­ria For­sell. He mar­ried twice, to Amy An­na Ma­ria Mag­da­le­na Stein­metz and Eu­ge­nie Brum­mer.

He was or­dained a pas­tor in the Swed­ish Lu­ther­an church in 1854. He served as vi­car in Alf­ta (1867) and Boll­näs (1883), as well as teach­ing for some years.

He re­ceived an hon­or­ary Doc­tor of Theo­lo­gy de­gree in 1893.
