Biography

Staniforth was the son of Tho­mas Wors­ley Sta­ni­forth, a knife grind­er, and Cor­de­lia Wors­ley, and hus­band of Sa­rah Su­san­nah Ni­chol­son Den­ton (mar­ried 1898).

He was or­gan­ist and choir­mas­ter at St. Paul’s Church, Brigh­ton, and lat­er or­gan­ist and mu­sic mas­ter at High­gate School, Lon­don.

In 1904–05, he con­trib­ut­ed ar­ti­cles on mu­sic and church his­to­ry to the Shef­field Tel­e­graph.
