Biography

William was the son of Will­iam John Spring­ett and Em­i­ly Wheel­ton, and hus­band of Ka­ther­ine Hen­ri­et­ta Dawes (mar­ried 1887).

He re­port­ed­ly earned BA and DD de­grees from Queens’s Col­lege, Oxford.

Springett served in a num­ber of dif­fer­ent posts (fol­lowing list is not ne­ces­sar­i­ly in chro­no­lo­gi­cal or­der):

• Vicar of Hern­hill, Fa­ver­sham, Kent, Eng­land (1883–92)
• Rector of Pluck­ley, Kent, Eng­land.
• Rector of West Tar­ring, West Sus­sex, Eng­land (1892)
• Rural Dean of East Char­ing, Kent, Eng­land
• Vicar of St. Mat­thews, Brix­ton (par­ish of St. Mat­thew with St. Jude (1898–1905)
• Honorary Ca­non of Can­ter­bu­ry
