Biography

Smith was pre­cen­tor at the Alie Street Meet­ing House, Good­man’s Fields, East Lon­don, re­ceiv­ing £40 per year, pos­si­bly the first sal­a­ried pre­cen­tor. Lat­er he be­came a li­nen dra­per.
