Biography

Martin was the son of Will­iam and Se­li­na Skef­fing­ton, and hus­band of Ma­ry Lou­isa Wearne (mar­ried 1875) .

He was for a long time head part­ner in the firm of Skef­fing­ton and Son, pub­lish­ers of theo­lo­gic­al and re­lat­ed works.

For ma­ny years, he was hon­or­ary or­gan­ist at St. Bar­na­bas, Kens­ing­ton, and con­duc­tor of the Ken­sing­ton cho­ral so­ci­ety. He com­posed a good deal of church mu­sic.
