A 2002 grad­u­ate of the South­ern Bap­tist The­o­lo­gi­cal Sem­in­ary, Eric is mar­ried, with four child­ren. He has served as pastor of the Beth­a­ny Bap­tist Church in Ke­o­kuk, Io­wa, and (as of 2006), North­brook Bap­tist Church, Ce­dar Ra­pids, Io­wa.
