Royer’s tune Breck­en­ridge was pub­lished in Bridge­wa­ter, Vir­gin­ia, in 1898.

It seems likely he is Breth­ren mi­ni­ster Ga­len Brown Roy­er (1862–1951), bur­ied in Lew­is­burg, Penn­syl­van­ia.
