Rodholm married Marie Kjølhede in 1901; they were both students at Des Moines, Iowa, and met in Latin class in 1898.

Rodholm later served as president of the Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (1922–26), president of Grand View College, and professor and dean of the AELC Seminary. His works include:
