Died: June 9, 1864, Monzievaird, Perthshire, Scotland.
William was the son of Rev. John Robertson, D.D.
He was educated at the University of Glasgow (MA).
In 1843, he became parish minister at Monzievaird.
He served on the Hymnal Committee of the Established Church in 1852, 1853 and 1857, and contributed two hymns to their 1862 Hymns for Public Worship.
