Jacques Regnart

October 16, 1599, in Prague, Czechoslovakia, or in Vienna, Austria.

Regnart began his musical career as a choir boy in Douai, Picardy. He later studied in Vienna, and, beginning in 1557, served the Hapsburgs in Prague and Vienna (also studying in Italy 1568-70). He was appointed vice-Kapellmeister in Prague in 1579, and in Innsbruck in 1582. His works include:
