Died: Jan­ua­ry 3, 1903, Tam­worth, Staf­ford­shire, Eng­land.

Biography

Henry was the son of Hen­ry Pye of Clif­ton Hall, Staf­fordshire.

He was edu­cat­ed at Tri­ni­ty Col­lege, Cam­bridge (BA 1848, MA 1852). He was or­dained a dea­con in 1850, and priest in 1851.

He served as cur­ate of Cud­des­don, Ox­ford­shire (1850–51), and as rec­tor of Clif­ton-Camp­ville with Chil­cote, Staf­ford­shire (1851–68). In 1868, he, to­ge­ther with his wife Em­i­ly (the on­ly daug­hter of Bi­shop S. Wil­ber­force), joined the Ro­man Ca­tho­lic church.

Pye was ad­mit­ted at the In­ner Tem­ple No­vem­ber 3, 1873, and called to the bar June 28, 1876.
