Introduction

Potter joined the Ro­man Ca­tho­lic church in 1847, and sub­se­quent­ly took Ho­ly Or­ders.

For ma­ny years he filled the Chair of Pul­pit El­o­quence and Engl­ish Li­te­ra­ture at the For­eign Mis­sion­ary Col­lege of All Hal­lows in Dub­lin, Ireland.
