Biography

Robert was the son of H. J. Pope, one time president of the Wesleyan Conference.

He was educated at Manchester Grammar School; Victoria University, Manchester; and St. John’s College, Cambridge (BA 1887, MA 1896).

He entered the Wesleyan ministry in 1888, and as of 1906 was stationed in Oxford.
