Biography

Daniel, an Ev­an­ge­li­cal min­is­ter, was the son of Charles Cupp Pol­ing and Sa­vil­la Ann Kring. He mar­ried twice: to Su­sie Van­der­sall (Sep­tem­ber 25, 1906, Sum­mit, Ohio), and Mrs. Lil­li­an Die­bold Hein­gart­ner (1919, Man­hat­tan, New York).

He ran as a Pro­hi­bi­tion (anti-al­co­hol) can­di­date for gov­er­nor of Ohio 1912. In the 1920s, he ran a po­pu­lar NBC ra­dio pro­gram. He ed­it­ed the Chris­tian Her­ald (1925–65), and head­ed se­ver­al Chris­tian char­i­ties.
