Biography

Pepper was the hus­band of Mar­ga­ret Lough­ead Schultz.

He was a Me­tho­dist Epis­co­pal min­is­ter with a Doc­tor of Di­vi­ni­ty degree. In 1856, he was ad­mit­ted on tri­al to the Me­tho­dist Epis­co­pal Phi­la­del­phia Con­fer­ence.

Findagrave shows his name as Eleu­the­ra Je­rome Dup­ont Pep­per, but mul­ti­ple 19th Cen­tu­ry sour­ces give his name as El­eu­the­ra I. E. Pep­per.
