Parker be­longed to the Chel­sea Street Bap­tist Church in Not­ting­ham. He start­ed his ca­reer as an ap­pren­tice in the ma­chine con­struct­ion de­part­ment of a lace mak­ing plant in New Bas­ford, where he worked for some time. Later in his ca­reer he head­ed an in­sur­ance com­pa­ny. His works in­clude:
