Co­py­right re­cords in­di­cate Olm­stead was liv­ing in Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois, in 1914. He served on the com­mis­sion that pro­duced the Free Meth­od­ist Hymn­al (Wi­no­na Lake, In­di­a­na: The Free Meth­od­ist Pub­lish­ing House, 1910). His other works in­clude:
