Biography

Eb­en­e­zer was the son of C. W. Newell.

He en­tered Wor­ces­ter Col­lege, Ox­ford, as an ex­hi­bi­tion­er in 1872 (BA 1876, MA 1878).

He was or­dained a dea­con in 1890, and priest the next year. As of 1900, he was rec­tor of Neen Soll­ars, Cle­o­bu­ry Mor­ti­mer, Shrop­shire, Eng­land, and be­came vi­car there in 1902.
