Biography

Educated for an ac­a­de­mic ca­reer, Moss be­came head­mas­ter of a school in Car­diff, Wales, on Jan­ua­ry 4, 1858. He stayed there four years, then held a si­mi­lar po­si­tion at Wan­tage, Berk­shire.

Leaving ac­a­de­mia for the mu­sic­al pro­fess­ion, he re­turned to London. In June 1866 he was ap­point­ed pre­cen­tor of Poul­try Cha­pel, a post he held for nine years.

In Jan­ua­ry 1877 he be­came ten­or vo­cal­ist at the Found­ling Cha­pel.
