Biography

Marian was the daugh­ter of Ste­phen Long­fel­low and Ma­ri­anne Pre­ble Full­er, and niece of po­et Hen­ry Long­fel­low and hym­nist Sam­uel Longfel­low. She married twice, to Will­iam Fran­cis Mor­ris of Bos­ton (May 9, 1876), and Mi­chael F. O’Don­o­ghue.

She spent her girl­hood, and did her first writ­ing, in Brook­line, Mas­sa­chu­setts.

She is re­mem­bered as a po­et, lec­tur­er, and trans­lat­or.
