A conductor, composer, arranger, and publisher of religious music, Montani studied in America, and in Rome, Italy, under Lorenzo Perosi, Filippo Capocci, Dom Mocqueriau, and Dom Endine. He founded the St. Gregory Guild and the Society of St. Gregory, and was a Knight Commander of St. Sylvester. He served as music director at St. John the Evangelist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1923-24), and at St. Paul’s Church, New York City (1925). His works include:
