Son of William Moberly of Islington, Charles entered Balliol College, Oxford, at age 16 (BA 1840, MA 1843). He was ordained a deacon in 1846, and priest in 1848. He served as Perpetual Curate of Beeston, Yorkshire (1855–57); Assistant Master at Rugby School (1859–79); and Rector of Coln Rogers, Gloucestershire (1879–83). His works include:
