Biography

Charles was the son of Will­iam Mo­ber­ly of Is­ling­ton.

He en­tered Bal­li­ol Col­lege, Ox­ford, at age 16 (BA 1840, MA 1843).

He was or­dained a dea­con in 1846, and priest in 1848. He served as per­pe­tu­al cu­rate of Bees­ton, York­shire (1855–57); as­sist­ant mas­ter at Rug­by School (1859–79); and rec­tor of Coln Ro­gers, Glou­ces­ter­shire (1879–83).
