Educated at the Mo­ra­vi­an The­o­lo­gi­cal Col­lege at Bar­by, Mill­er went to Ful­neck, Eng­land, in 1781, and in 1788 to Pud­sey. His orig­in­al hymns and trans­la­tions were con­trib­ut­ed to the 1789 Mo­ra­vi­an Hymn Book.
