Biography

Elizabeth was the daugh­ter of Na­than­iel Wal­ker Ap­ple­ton and Sar­ah Til­den, and wife of So­lo­mon Pear­son Miles, head­mas­ter of the Bos­ton High School, and lat­er prin­ci­pal of a school for young la­dies in Boston.

After her hus­band died in 1842, Eli­za­beth went to live with her son in Brat­tle­bo­ro, Ver­mont.
