Born: 1858, near West Salem, Ohio.
Died: March 13, 1915, possibly in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. At the time of his death, he was moderator of the Redstone Presbytery.
McCauley attended the National Normal University, Ohio (BA 1883, LittD 1893), and Lane Theological Seminary, Cincinnati, Ohio (1886).
The Presbytery of Cincinnati licensed him in 1885, and he was ordained the next year by the Presbytery of Dayton, Ohio.
He served the Park Presbyterian Church in Dayton (1886–91); Wayne Avenue Presbyterian Church, Dayton (1891–94); the 5th Presbyterian Church, Toledo, Ohio (1895–?); and First Church, McKeesport, Pennsylvania (1911 until his death).
He was president of the Ohio Christian Endeavor Union (1895); vice president of the World’s C. E. Union; lecturer at Lane Theological Seminary (1893); editor in the Worker’s Training Department, and of The Outlook.
