McAulay was pas­tor of the First Pres­by­ter­i­an Church, Wil­ton, Io­wa (1886-1907) (home town of song writ­er Charles Ga­bri­el). As well as Gos­pel songs, he al­so wrote some Ma­son­ic po­e­try.
