Late 19th Century

We have little data on this author. Some have speculated (with no supporting evidence) that she is Victorian novelist Elizabeth Maxwell Braddon. However, we find this implausible, given Braddon’s history of living with a married man for 13 years, and her works showing no interest in religion.
