Marckant was in­cum­bent of Clac­ton Mag­na (now Great Clac­ton), Es­sex (1559) and Shop­land (ap­par­ent­ly near South­end-on-Sea, Essex) (1563–68), Eng­land.

Works

He wrote on­ly few small piec­es: a po­li­ti­cal po­em on Lord Went­worth (1558–59); a New Year’s gift en­ti­tled With Speed Re­turn to God; and Vers­es to Di­vers Good Pur­pos­es (cir­ca 1580). He al­so con­trib­ut­ed four en­tries to the me­tri­cal ver­sion of the Psalms known as the Old Ver­sion.
