Biography

Daniel was the son of Sam­uel March and Zoa Park.

He at­tend­ed the Mill­bu­ry Aca­de­my and Am­herst Col­lege (1834–36), taught for two years at the Ches­ter [Ver­mont] Aca­de­my, then en­tered Yale Uni­ver­si­ty, gra­du­at­ing in 1843.

Ordained a Con­gre­ga­tion­al min­is­ter in 1845, he served in Pres­by­te­ri­an and Con­gre­ga­tion­al churches. He had an in­tense in­ter­est in mis­sions, and was known for lec­tur­ing on his world tra­vels.
