Biography

It seems prob­a­ble that this com­pos­er is George Brace Loo­mis (1833–1887), an In­di­an­apo­lis mu­sic teach­er, who in 1864 be­came first su­per­in­ten­dent of mu­sic in the In­di­an­apo­lis pub­lic schools. The tune Pa­len­cia was writ­ten for The An­gels’ Song, by Love Ja­me­son, who is bur­ied in In­di­an­apo­lis, In­di­ana.
