Late 19th Century

It seems probable that this composer is George Brace Loomis (1833–1887), an Indianapolis music teacher, who in 1864 became first superintendent of music in the Indianapolis public schools. The tune Palencia was written for The Angels’ Song, by Love Jameson, who is buried in Indianapolis, Indiana.
