Lloyd taught at the Liverpool College of Music (1894–1900), became principal of the Liverpool Academy of Music in 1901, and was music editor for The Free Methodist (1898–1900).
He played the organ at Simon’s Parish Church (1899); the UMF Church, Grove Street (1890); Brunswick Church (1891); St. John’s Wesleyan Church, Princes Park (1893–95); and Presbyterian churches in Canning Street (1897) and Sefton Park (1903–34).
