Biography

Johann was the son of Ni­co­laus Lin­de­mann, bur­gess at Go­tha.

He at­tend­ed the Gym­na­si­um in Go­tha, and then ap­par­ent­ly stu­died at Je­na (and gra­du­at­ed MA).

He seems to have be­come can­tor at Go­tha around 1571, and re­tired from this post in 1631. Julian, page 677, states that in 1634, he was a mem­ber of the new Coun­cil at Go­tha, though this con­flicts with his re­port­ed death year of 1631.
