Biography

Lester was edu­cat­ed at St. John’s Col­lege, Cam­bridge (BA in hon­ors, 1868; MA 1871).

Ordained in 1868, he pas­tored in a num­ber of lo­ca­tions; was di­o­ces­an mis­sion­er in Lich­field (1880–85); pre­ben­da­ry of Lich­field (1884); and rec­tor at South Hack­ney (1885–90) and Lex­den, Es­sex (1890).
