Biography

When Le­on­ard’s par­ents died, he was adopt­ed by a Cap­tain White, a Bap­tist, in Ohio.

A preach­er and vo­cal mu­sic teach­er, he moved from Jef­fer­son­ville, In­di­ana, to farm in Cen­tral­ia, Il­li­nois, 1856.
