Biography

A 1935 gra­du­ate of Ab­i­lene Chris­tian Col­lege (now Ab­i­lene Chris­tian Uni­ver­si­ty), Lem­mons be­came a Church of Christ min­is­ter.

He served in Tip­ton, Ok­la­ho­ma (1935–43) and at the Cen­tral Church of Christ, in Cle­burne, Tex­as (1943–55).

He ed­it­ed the Firm Foun­da­tion in Aus­tin, Texas (1955–83), and the pe­ri­od­i­cals Ac­tion and Im­age, and was ac­tive­ly in­volved in ov­er­seas mis­sions, es­pe­cial­ly in Af­ri­ca.
