Biography

Kübler stu­died theo­lo­gy in Tü­bing­en.

The Lon­don Mis­sion­ary So­cie­ty sent him to Ma­dras, In­dia, 1855, but he re­turned to Lon­don for health rea­sons in 1858.

He be­came a pas­tor in the Ger­man Reformed church, and served as chap­lain to the Ger­man com­mu­ni­ty in Is­ling­ton (1876–1901)

While in Lon­don, Küb­ler came to know Ro­bert Pear­sall Smith, a lead­er of the ho­li­ness move­ment, and, at an 1875 con­fer­ence in Bright­on, he met Ger­man Me­tho­dist preach­er Ernst Geb­hardt.

In ad­di­tion to church work, Küb­ler pro­mot­ed the Ger­man hos­pi­tal in Lon­don.
