Biography

Essek was the son of Will­iam A. Ken­yon and Anne Eli­za Knox. He mar­ried twice: to Eva S. Spur­ling (May 8, 1893) and Al­ice Maude Whit­ney (1914).

In 1898, he op­ened the Beth­el Bi­ble In­sti­tute in Spen­cer, Mas­sa­chu­setts, and was its pr­es­ident for 25 years. Af­ter moves and name chang­es, the school merged with Gor­don Col­lege in Wen­ham, Mas­sa­chu­setts.
