Introduction

Biography

Orrin was the son of Will­iam By­ran Keen­er and Ma­ry Smith. He mar­ried twice, to Ma­ry An­na­belle Wiles and He­len Mar­ga­ret Keck.

He was edu­cat­ed at the West­ern Re­serve Uni­ver­si­ty, Cleve­land, Ohio (AB 1917, AM 1926, PhD 1956).

In World War I, he served in the Ar­my me­di­cal de­part­ment in France. Lat­er, he was a Pro­fess­or of So­cial Stu­dies at Be­rea Col­lege, Ken­tuc­ky.

In 1969, he was or­dained a min­is­ter in the Unit­ed Church of Christ (Con­gre­ga­tion­al).
