Horne at­tend­ed the Ci­ty of Lon­don School, and in 1862 en­tered Ches­hunt Coll­ege as a stu­dent for the Con­gre­ga­tion­al min­is­try. He served pas­tor­ates in St. Helen’s, Lan­ca­shire (1866); Ab­bey Road, Tor­quay (1869-73); Wood Green (1873-93); Coll­ege Cha­pel, Brad­ford (1893-6); and Eal­ing (1896-1922). His works in­clude:
