Biography

Hopkins was a cho­ris­ter at St. Paul’s Ca­thed­ral (1831–38).

He was or­gan­ist at Mitch­am Pari­sh Church (1838, suc­ceed­ing his bro­ther Ed­ward).

He lat­er played the or­gan at St. Ste­phen’s, Is­ling­ton (1839); Tri­ni­ty Church, Is­ling­ton (1843); St. Mark’s, Jer­sey (1845); St. Mi­chael’s, Ches­ter Square, Bel­gra­via (1846); and Ro­che­ster Ca­thed­ral (1854–1900) (suc­ceed­ing his cou­sin, John Lar­kin Hop­kins).
