Biography

Hills was list­ed as rec­tor of the Pro­test­ant Epis­co­pal Mar­in­ers’ Church, De­troit, Mi­chi­gan, in 1850.

An ad­ver­tise­ment in an 1895 con­cert pro­gram for the Bos­ton Sym­pho­ny Or­ches­tra des­cribed him as Or­gan­ist and Choir­mas­ter of Mt. Cal­va­ry Church, a pu­pil of the late Ma­dam Em­ma Seil­er, and of the New York Vo­cal In­sti­tute.

Copyright re­cords show him liv­ing in Bal­ti­more, Ma­ry­land, in 1902.
