Biography

Laurene was the daugh­ter of George W. High­field and Eliz­abeth Pe­ter­son Ab­er­na­thy.

A play­wright, she was liv­ing in Ad­ams Coun­ty, Il­li­nois, in 1900 and 1910.

Works

Highfield wrote about 300 hymns and sac­red songs, the li­bret­to of one ora­to­rio, sev­er­al can­ta­tas, and ma­ny po­ems, ex­er­cis­es, re­ci­ta­tions for spe­cial oc­ca­sions.
