Born: Circa 1840, New Shil­don, Eng­land.

Died: Sum­mer of 1926, Dar­ling­ton, En­gland.

Biography

William was the son of stone cut­ter Chris­to­pher Hes­lop and his wife Sar­ah, and hus­band of Eliz­abeth Fletch­er (mar­ried May 1863, Shil­don).

He earned his liv­ing as a boil­er­mak­er. His fa­mi­ly moved to Dar­ling­ton from Shildon be­tween 1871 and 1881.

As of 1907, he was Mu­sic­al Di­rect­or of the Dar­ling­ton and Stock­ton-on-Tees Psal­mo­dy As­so­ci­ation, Lon­don.

Heslop helped ed­it The Pri­mi­tive Me­tho­dist Hym­nal Sup­ple­ment with Tunes (Lon­don: Pri­mi­tive Me­tho­dist Pub­lish­ing House, cir­ca 1889).
